Barrett’s Bagels is born!

There are few things that are as good as bagels done right.

My name is Ben Anderson, well Ben Barrett Anderson, and Barrett’s Bagels is my small one man bagel bakery.

I don’t have ambitions of growing a national brand, or wholesaling 1000s of bagels a day, I just want to feed my Madison community with high quality, delicious food. Having worked in a number of restaurants, bakeries and catering operations, Barrett’s Bagels is a direct response to the burn out driven food system.

This is a purposefully small operation where I can do what I love, bake. I take pride in sourcing locally, like using Meadowlark Flour, and baking carefully.

Everyone deserves great food, Barrett’s is the purest expression of this.

My bagels are made simply: meadowlark flour, barley malt, brown sugar, salt, yeast and water, Hand rolled, heavily coated in spices, baked hot and fast, that is it!

Beautiful bagels don’t need much other than a hungry partner!
